Alaska and Hawaii cost more to reach, so free shipping doesn't cover them. After you order, we'll email you the extra shipping. Pay it, or cancel for a full refund.

American Dog makes and ships each order from Denver within 5 business days. Smaller orders go by USPS, and larger ones by UPS Ground or FedEx. Most arrive 2 to 4 days after they ship, depending on where they're going. We email your tracking link as soon as it ships.

Everything ships compressed and vacuum-sealed, in the smallest box it fits. Once a bed is out of its seal, give it time to expand before the first nap. When more than one thing fits in a box, they ship together.

American Dog orders ship to all 50 states and Washington, D.C. There's no express shipping on American Dog orders.

American Dog wants every customer to love what they get, and if you need to return an order, it's happy to help: get in touch and it takes you through the process.

For an order from us, contact us with your order number and we'll take you through it with American Dog. Please don't send anything back before you hear from us.

Unzip the cover and machine wash it, then dry it on low heat. It dries quickly.

Hand wash the inner pads and liners only. They don't go in the washer.

Putting a round bolster bed back together

1. Find the three zippers underneath: the two outer ones are for the bolster, and the middle one is for the bed pad.
2. Open the two outer zippers and pull the cover open.
3. Reach through both openings and pull one end of the bolster through about a third of the way.
4. Pull the longer end of the bolster through the opposite opening.
5. Tuck the end that's sticking out into its channel, overlapping the first end by about 5 inches.
6. Zip the outer zippers closed, then open the middle zipper.
7. Push the bed pad into the middle opening, one side and then the other.
8. Zip the middle zipper, flip the bed over, and add one dog.

American Dog doesn't publish a warranty for its beds and pads.

Furvana™ is soft: a curly minky fleece top over a 1680D ballistic nylon bottom with a non-skid strip. Armor™ is tough: 1680D ballistic nylon top and bottom, with hidden zippers and a waterproof cover, made for the heaviest scratchers, diggers and chewers. If your dog sleeps outside or chews whatever they lie on, pick Armor™.

No bed is, and American Dog doesn't claim otherwise. Armor™ is the toughest choice for diggers and chewers, but keep an eye on a dog who likes to tear things apart.

Armor™ covers are waterproof, which helps with the occasional accident and makes them good for camping. Furvana™ beds have a liner under the cover, but the fleece top isn't waterproof.

American Dog designs its beds as orthopedic beds for older dogs and dogs with sore hips. The shredded foam inside shapes itself around the body instead of pushing back. For a dog who struggles to step up, a flat bed is easier to get onto than a bolster bed.

American Dog's spare round covers fit its round beds. Pick the same size as your bed (Small 25 in, Medium 32 in, Large 37 in or X-Large 45 in). A cover comes without the pad inside.
