Our Story

Snoring Beagle is named after the best sound in the house: a dog so deeply asleep they’ve started to snore.

How it started

It started with Keely. When she came home as a puppy, she brought a sound with her we’d never heard before. Not a whimper, not a sleepy puppy sigh: a real snore, deep and rumbling and far bigger than the dog making it. It was a first for us, and unlike anything we’d ever heard from a puppy.

She hasn’t stopped since, and it’s still the best sound in the house. Listening to her, and watching the rest of our dogs, we noticed that dogs don’t just sleep. They curl into a donut, stretch out flat on one side, flop belly-up with their paws in the air, or press up against whoever’s closest. Most dog beds are made for just one of those.

So that’s what Snoring Beagle does: we find a bed for each way a dog sleeps, in every size, from makers who build them to last. The first is American Dog, which sews every bed it makes in the USA. Tell the bed finder how your dog sleeps and what they weigh, and it matches the bed and the size.

Who’s behind it

A small team, most of them dogs. Keely Jean, our beagle, is head of product testing. She takes the job very seriously, mostly with her eyes closed. She works alongside Bailey, Sadie, Gracie, Sierra and Sydney, a crew of boxers and mixes who take their sleep just as seriously. Meet the testing team.

The humans mostly answer email and refill the water bowls.
