Meet the maker
Fatboy began with one beanbag, the Original, designed by the Finnish interior architect Jukka Setälä, who named it after Fatboy Slim, the music he had on while he drew it. Alex Bergman, a Dutch entrepreneur, took it on in 2003, and Fatboy has grown into a Dutch design brand of furniture, lighting and outdoor pieces.
Its Doggielounge is a beanbag for dogs: a bead-filled cushion that settles round your dog as it lies down, with Fatboy’s bone on the side. The Outdoor one is in olefin, which shrugs off water, dirt, stains and mildew, indoors or out.
